tasty japan

Last time I went back to my "home town", Tokyo, (and most of the time I go anywhere) photos I took were of the deLiciOus food. the below obviously is a Tiramisu, at a restaurant called AGIO in Isetan department store in Shinjuku. Ive always loved this particular Tiramisu (although it tasted a bit like they were skimping on Mascarpone last time...) because instead of using ladyfingers (light) for that layer, they use a thin puff pastry (heavy, kind of buttery, Yum). Of course since they soak it in the syrup, it is not "puffy" but makes this layer more flavorful, I think.





this is a plate of Tempura I believe I had at a restaurant and not at home... I feel so bad that I cannot remember the name of the noodle restaurant though. in the image, there is Japanese eggplant, Shishitou (its, to me, like a small poblano peppers. just a little kick) Japanese Yam, and shrimp.




this egg... just came out like this. I think it makes a great shape. we were a little weirded out by it, but still ate it.


a Lunch Sandwich plate from Kihachi restaurant and below is a lunch salad plate. the sandwich consists of lightly battered fried shrimp, arugula, avocado, and his special mayo based sauce. soooo good. this restaurant is known for Kihachi (the chef)'s creative recipes with fusion of eastern and western food, good service, and good looking waitresses.
